i just installed a i5 3570 into my living room PC. i ran a game of bf3 to see what temps i get on a stock cooler.

(using HWmonitor) on the package temps i got 90c.. idk if thats a good temp for a stock cooler lol

stock fan is installed corrected. i used artic silver thermal paste. got rid of the intels stock paste.. so

idk if i should be seeing high temps like that. or is ivy bridge just hot

That is definitely not normal. You should be getting 55-65C on gaming load with the stock cooler.(unless you have an ambient of 45C lol)

Re-seat your cooler. This stupid plastic notches tend to break easily causing the heatsink not to kame good contact with the cpu
