Hello. I have getting some problems with my internet. I have been getting speeds up to 0.5-10mbps. After a while the internet speeds up VERY SLOWLY up to 75mbps then drops suddenly back to 0.5mbps. Can anyone help?

Things i have tried.
1)Using a different ethernet cable.
2)Switching my OS (seems like its my os since I tried using 8.1 pro and 7)
3)Scanning for Virus
4)Defragging
5)CMD: ipconfig/flushdns ipconfig/renew
6)Used a different computer to check if it's my isp
7)Getting the latest drivers.

Oh, btw I have a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Conroller

Thank you.

Call your ISP if it persists across multiple devices.

This problem only shows on my pc.

Okey, normally it takes upto 48 hours after changing to fibre to get your speed set.

Are you using Wireless or Wired connection?

When/what times do you notice this speed drop?

Have you got any network monitoring software?

Whos your ISP?

You can use Windows Resource Manager/monitor to view the Network usage.

1) wired

2)after a few hours of slow internet, speeds will gradually get higher, and when it is at its peak, it drops suddenly.

3) no i am only using speed test and task manager

4) Verizon Fios

Thankyou

I live in the UK so cant say much about the ISP but at peek hours of the day they will reduce your speed to allow more bandwidth to other customers.

For example at 6 in the morning you have 70Mb/s but 6 in the evening when everyone is home you get 30Mb/s

Have you changed any settings on your Router? You can change where your Ethernet cable is plugged in, normally 1 of the ethernet ports have extra QoS/More Dedicated bandwidth.

How many devices are connected? Is your Router protected by a password so others can't join?

Could try updating your Router firmware.

Check ethernet cable for damages

Is there any way to check your bandwidth through verizon? not using Speedtest.net If so do it and compare results

Edit: Just found this http://my.verizon.com/services/speedtest/

What speeds are you getting on your Computer and what speed are you getting on your other devices when you notice the speed drop?

What OS are you using?

You can try this:http://download.cnet.com/SG-TCP-Optimizer/3000-2155_4-10415840.html   and use their different settings or look online for tutorials

1) No

2) Alot

3) My computer is the only one getting slow connections.

4) i have tried using a different ethernet cable, no change.

Edit: Just did some looking online for 8.1 Enterprise

Try Trouble shooting your Network card and internet explore  (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/why-internet-connection-slow#why-internet-connection-slow=windows-7)

Check windows is up to date. Maybe try doing a system restor to before the problem since i found a post saying after the updates he got really slow speeds.
