Can you please suggest me a fair price?

 

How does the 4th generation i3 compare to a second generation i5?

Yes, and he can still upgrade to a 2500K for 150$ + get more RAM if needed 

I flashed the newest BIOS, so it even supports Ivy Bridge. So later down the line, he can upgrade up to a 3770K.

4TH gen i3 will not be as good as second gen i5 in my book lacking in cores and not enough improvement have been made since gen 2.

Not really interested in a dual core without HT. And I believe an i3 should be enough for gaming for me.

Why not just keep it and get a higher end Ivy chip?

I want to go m-ITX. I move my PC often enough and I just want to try it.
