I have a terribly bad internet here in france , so i don't do downloads , mostly streaming.

Heavy data are on the NAS in the living room to share with my family.

Not playing tons of games too (that's why only a GTX960)

with everything installed i am running like that.

Playing GTA 5 , War Thunder , Aion doing Videos of War Thunder and... the rest is all about series and music.

I am not like hardcore gamer just wanted a fast pc , not running too loud.

Haha, then you have enough storage for those games. Nice to have someone using a NAS ;)

I don't see many people (I know) using it. I don't use it myself either.

I play a lot of games, video recording and editing and sometimes I use Hyper-V for virtualization.

Here in france most isp give you a "box" ( router in english i think)

My isp "box" runs on linux natively and can do torrent , nas , TV recording ect.

So you just have to plug an external or internal hard drive to get a nas for free.

It's pretty common and cheap here so... and look badass imo :D

I still got a bunch of discs on me... I just find it weird that you have multiple ODDs instead of 1 multi-drive...

1 because of the name "Sharkoon" - how would a shark and a racoon mate ? Plus too many lights and stuff (Sirducksallot must be a transformer fan)

The rest of the system if it was in any cast not named "Sharkoon"..."6" good solid system but not super fancy, gets the job done and good components (except shark/racoon case :D )

All around a solid combination of components, 8/10 would bang, I would hypothesize that the mobo, memory, cpu and ssd are all newer than the GPU

SO all gather around and rate my system of woe

Case: Thermaltake V9 Black Edition

CPU: AMD A8-3850 4 cores @ 3.0GHz

CPU cooler: Stock AMD unit, keeps it in the 20's to 30's

RAM: 4.00GB DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24) I don't know the brand

Mobo: MSI A55M-P33

GPU: 1024MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 6670

Storage: 128GB Intel SSD (system), 2x 500 GB platter hard drives (1 for games 1 for storage), 1x 2TB platter drive (storage)

PSU: Coolmax 750 Watt, modular

Sound Card: On board Realtek High Definition Audio baby

DAC: Technics SH-AC300

Preamp: Kenwood Basic C1

Amp: RCA Dimensia MPA-100 (Kenwood Basic M1 is in need of caps but after refurb will go back into circulation because better frequency response and higher watts)

Speakers: MTX AAL 154 250W peak power

Monitors: Acer P221w side by side next to a RCA 41" 1080p LCD ($80 Goodwill TV)

Originally the setup was much nicer, but my Phenom 9850be blew up as a result of too much OC and it took the Mobo with it, I bough the CPU, Mobo and memory combo from a neighbor for $80 after my main system dieded, and the A8-3850 is technically a better cpu than the 9850. I have been putting off upgrading the compy because horespower comes first in my family, I've been dumping money into V8 related goodness and the relative expense verses the long term value of electronic components does not fare favorably in comparison. In short a V8 won't depreciate, but chips will.

I like physical media too, but how awesome would it be if they just packaged games on non writeable SD cards ? No more slow installs :D

Jonathan, my rig is old too, I bought it so as not to have to upgrade for 5 years while being as quiet as my Imac in 2013. Sadly still nothing to push it, might as cry with you so you have company:

Case: Fractal Define XLR2 (black)

PSU: Seasonic Platimum 760 V2

CPU: 3770K

CPU Cooler: Xigmatek Dark Knight 2 Stealth Edition

HDDs: Samsung 840 Pro 128 & 512 GB
