So, for those of you that don't know, I'm getting a new rig (in my sig under Athena). My dad is telling me that his "FX 9-something" (it has an 8350-esque heatsink) and his Radeon HD 6770 will beat it...

 

He feeds me so much shit about tech, saying that his will run faster than mine since he knows what he's doing... As I recall, HELIOS has been running for 2 months solid without any problems.

I got into an argument with my mother over the nature of LED TVs (you know LCD ones with LED backlight) apparently she's under the strong impression that LED makes it something other than LED, and all this after admitting I know more about tech than she does.

My dad's major is CS and he is a software designer for a bank so he knows his stuff...my mom is a whole different story...when she sees those ads that say "Your Windows PC is Infected" she thinks it's real, she clicked on a fake "Upgrade your IE" ad and I grabbed the laptop and hit "No" at the UAC prompt...thank god.

How does one "beat" specs? Do you guys have a benchmark drag race? "I have a higher number of thing! Accomplishment!"

I was gonna spring 3DMark on him. Don't think a 6770 1GB under any conditions will beat a 7950 3GB.
