So this is my first time having 2 pc storages, and i have alot of questions!

for start,i will do a format in a little while

so i have to be prepaired

1st: will i have to just install my windows in the ssd and then format the hdd?

2nd:  if i install my windows on my 128gb ssd... will all programs (like steam, chrome etc) go to the ssd program data file? can i change that to put them on my hdd... will this work? like... my windows on ssd and the programs on the Hdd?

3rd:(if yes) can i change that to put them on my hdd... will this work? like... my windows on ssd and the programs on the Hdd?how do i do that?

4rth:is there any tutorials? ... or how to ...

...

all i know right now is that i CANT clone my windows to my ssd because i use 500gb while my ssd is only 128gb

if you have any ideas that i can try or any "options" for me,please help :/

pics below is how i have done it till now.

(the ssd files were tried to be deleted by me because they needed "repair" and i thought to reinstall them anyway)

(and btw... Greek windows)

So going for OS on SSD and everything else on HDD type thing? There are several options on how to move OS from HDD to SSD. If you are going for the fresh install one, you can just do install on SSD. You can unplug HDD during this time as its going to be used as storage drive.

For programs. Program Files is just a folder. Nothing else. When you install new software, they will ask for installation path. At this point you can choose folder for installation. I use system where I have both Program Files folders on both SSD and HDD. So only thing I do when choosing where to install is change drive letter in file path. There might be better solutions to this also. Steam and Origin have option to install in several folders also. In Steam its during install, in Origin you have to set it before downloading gamefiles.

As for Libraries for music etc. You can select which folders are included. Or create new libraries.

As for all other stuff (works also for Program Files). There's little trick called Junction points. I have my user folder linked that way. So windows thinks its on SSD when its actually on HDD. Here's the guide I used http://www.starkeith.net/coredump/2009/05/18/how-to-move-your-windows-user-profile-to-another-drive/

Just format your SSD, install windows on it, and leave the HDD alone. Copy all the files you need from the HDD over to the SSD, then delete the Windows installation and Program Files folders on the HDD (you might have to remove the installation registry in msconfig as well). This way you get to format now and still decide which files you'd like to keep or transfer. You don't have to format your HDD
