you can oc on that board, but make sure you keep voltage low

you can see the vrm is heatsinked and the chokes are good

its true its only 4 phases, but so do other boards even z97 ones have so there is no problem :)

Comment on the build please.

What would I have to upgrade to get it to run better?

What is your max budget?

A better GPU would help immensely

The intel i5 and i7 do run arma 3 better, but for the money the 8320 will do fine

A new GPU will help but not as much as you may think. Arma, whether it is 2 or 3 are both CPU heavy games.

What do they know of England, who only England know?

What would be a good value intel cpu that isn't much more expensive so that I could upgrade in the future because I am running on a potato right now and want a pc now.

If you are on a tight budget the 8320 is probably your best option

It is at least 100$ more for an I5/i7 and that money would be WAY better spent on a graphics card

I run it quite well

For arma, this is unbalanced rig. You would be better off with unlocked pentium ( i5 would be amazing if we can fit it in). And then maybe a r9 280.

Then;

-cheaper case

-buy ssd later

I can construct a build if you want me to and then you comment.

Won't run at all without any RAM :P

Otherwise it should be OK, make sure to turn of Anti-Alaising.

I have the i3 4330 and it runs arma really good. You should get one of the new i3's and a z97 mobo so you can upgrade later.

I don't always have time to study, but when I do, I don't.

How multi-threaded is ARMA 3?

I would have thought an OC'ed Pentium G3258 would be better since it is cheaper and then upgrade to a Core i5+ at a later date.

It needs very good single core performance. The pentium when oc'd would be very very similar to the i3, but it would also consume more power and be hotter and not so futureproof, since it only has 2 threads.

I don't always have time to study, but when I do, I don't.

Arma 3? Thanks that is the sought of answer I was looking for.

For the price of the Core i3-4330 and as good a CPU as it is I would save a little extra and jump to a Core i5

I know but but surely would be better going with the Pentium because of how cheap it is and then upgrade to a Core i5 or higher at a later date

Yea I would say so, even though the Core i5 is locked and OK has the same number of threads as the Core i3 but remember physical cores trump logical cores all day long :)
