Is it worth it? In what situations would it be a good idea?

Its free if you buy one of their select products.

Its worth it if you buy a gtx780 and then a month or two later the 880 comes out, and you want the 880.

I thought you just had to pay the difference, rather than it being free.

Well you can only do it within 90 days of your purchase of an EVGA product. Say if you were to buy a 780ti and within 90 days the 880ti comes out - instead of selling the GPU off yourself, you can trade it in to EVGA and they give you some credit to one of their products, in this example a 880ti.

You only pay the difference between the prices of a 780ti and an 880ti, in that example of course.

Depends. If you bought a card, then the Ti version comes out, I would consider it worth the money to step up.

Do you save any money by using this program?

Obviously you'd pay the difference, but theres nothing you have to do to be eligible for it--i.e. its free.

Again....its free. If you purchased an elgibile product within the last 90 days then you can pay the difference to get something better.

What exactly is confusing about it

You save money in the sense that if you were to make the same upgrade by selling the card on eBay or something, it would cost more. You won't actually save any money on the card though, you'll have to pay the difference in price between the first card that you're returning and the new card.

Yes. Let me put this another way:

You buy and pay $650 for a 780ti today.

Three weeks go by and the 880ti comes out and it performs better than the 780ti, but it's $700.

You want the 880ti.

You call up EVGA and be like:

"Yo nikka, I just bought a 780ti, but you have an 880ti now. Sup?"

EVGA be like

"Ya mane, you wanna give that 780ti to us, and you pay us about $50?"

You'll be like

" 0____0 Hook me up homie"

So basically you gave them your 780ti and $50 for an 880ti.
