E10's vs CX 475's

Go to solution Solved by Shaqo_Wyn,

the thing is I'm not a fan of thick cables on IEM's, they are heavy, although I do like the fact they are sturdy.

They're not that thick. Just thick enough to feel like they can actually survive for a while. These are the foam tips I got for the E10's http://www.soundessentials.co.nz/webapps/p/90155/227354/613706 .

Hiya guys, so before I was in my local supermarket and noticed they have a sale on the sennheiser CX 475's. As I was going to buy some new earbuds soon anyway, which do you think are better? The sennheiser CX 475 or the Soundmagic E10's? considering they both cost the same due to that sale.

 cheers guys.

Sennheiser's cable quality is meh, and since that's 50% of an IEM, I'd go for the Soundmagic E10.

Yeah I did think of that, because I HATE the rubberised cables on their IEM's.

I have the soundmagic e10 and I love it. The sound quality is exactly what I wanted for an IEM with a really durable and tangle free cable. (Always in and out of my pocket and i've only had them tangle once in three months). I didn't really like the stock ear tips so I'd recommend the comply foam ones but that's just a preference.

I've had both the E10's and the Sennheiser equivalent, the CX300 II. Didn't like the crappy earbuds the E10's comes with, audio quality was slightly better after I wasted another $15 getting better earbuds. The CX300 II sounds just as good, have better earbuds out the box and a thicker cable than the cheaper models. So if the CX475 is better than the CX300 II, I'd get that.

By buds, do you mean silicone tips?

Also, how long did each last you? I've had IE60's that didn't last me a year before the cable casing came apart near the housing, exposing the wires underneath. Less than a year of use on something that cost me $300 left a bad taste in my mouth for Senn's IEM offerings.

Do you have a link to the foam ear tips?

Yeah, silicone tips. Forgot the name for a sec. E10 8 months, CX 300 II 1 year, 2 months. I've come to expect this life span from $40 earphones, and the 2 warranty on them guarantees you a second replacement pair. Also not willing to spend more than $50 on ear or headphones especially if they break within a year anyway.

You can also look into decibullz earmoulds, it moulds to your ear and is really comfortable.

I recommend the e10's as well, I haven't really read any bad reviews yet about them.
