i dont know how to discribe it better but lately my system needs a long ass time to boot up and im not talking about windows loading so long. basicly what happens is i turn on the system, then bios need like a minute or so and then windows boots up pretty quickly as usual.

also when i enter the bios on startup it goes black and when it finaly shows it lags as hell i mean im hitting one button and it takes like 30 seconds to respond. this cant be normal as i didnt behave like that until now , well until about a week or so ago.

the only thing i can imagine causing this is that a couple of weeks back i overclocked my cpu to 3.4 wich isnt huge to my understanding.

so did i fuck something up.

on a side note: bios is reporting my max cpu frequency to be 6.3 gigs which is obviously bs and it doesnt run that of course, but still weird my bios would tell me i could go that far.

can you revert settings back to stock?

see if that will help

it may be a sign of the mobo or ram dying

motherboard dying id get because it was a cheapo but ram would be disappointing, reseting to stock would be worth a try i guess even though i actually hate flahing bios update again and adjusting my settings all over again plus im probably going to upgrade in the near future anyway so yeah this post might not be that important but still i was just wondering what is going so i will try resetting it.

Clearing CMOS/reseting to stock doesn't revert BIOS version in my knowledge. But you will have to put settings back all together. Are you using UEFI mode on BIOS? I had problem of UEFI mode crashing. With legacy it works better.

Mobo problem likely. My last system had a dying sata port and would hang when trying to communicate with a drive on boot up.

In windows it wouldn't hang, it would simply drop the drive and I'd need to reboot.

If the bus has a problem you could try moving components to different ports or PCI slots. You might discover a dying lane.

Once I stopped using the bad sata port everything went back to normal.
