So I sold my Corsair 1300 headphones and now a few months later I got them back because they where only doing background sound unless you hold the wire in the right spot.  So I found where the problem was and took the control box apart, then I figured the easiest way to go about fixing it would be to cut the brake out of the cable and re-attach it to the PCB in the control box. turns out the wire is fiber so when I try to solder it, it just burns up.

Is it possible to re-attach the wire?  if not is it possible to replace the fiber with copper?

Thanks

You could go through the work of resoldering a new cable altogether, but realistically it's not worth the effort.

Why not? Cut, strip, solder. It isn't that difficult if you're able to solder. Maybe a friend could help you out if you can't? With the right parts and tools it only takes a couple of minutes. Doesn't look that amazing after such a DIY mod, but for personal use its ok :)
