Should I activate V-Sync or not?

If you are getting screen-tearing, then you can turn it on, but if not, there isn't any real point to turn it on.

Do you see a difference with it on or off?

If not, just leave it off.

I notice a lack of responsiveness when it is on, even though it locks at 60.

Others notice less screen tearing, and like it on.

It depends on you.

Screen tearing really bugs me, so I always try V-Sync in every game. In most games, V-Sync increases the input lag, I guess. You can actually just barely start to notice the lag when you move your mouse and the screen takes a couple extra milliseconds to update. I mean, 60Hz is fine. In some games, having V-Sync on adds no noticeable display lag, so I enable it. Less screen tearing is always a plus. I tend to leave it off. I know for a fact Deus Ex has triple buffering. It does get rid of some tearing, allows more than 60hz and doesn't add any input lag.

Even if I have an 100 Hz monitor? Fraps is saying I'm getting an constant 100 fps.

 

If V-Sync is enabled and you're getting 100FPS, then it is obviously triple buffering rather than double buffering as I mentioned above.

People always bitch, yes bitch, about mouse lag n everything but if its implemented well in a game, I'd use it. Games I've played like CoD, Crysis, and Battlefield I have yet to notice any added lag when vsync is enabled.

For you since its at 100hz, I wouldn't unless you use settings where you'll have constant 100fps. If yes and its implemented well, go for it. If not don't
