Do I need a splitter?

Go to solution Solved by Huginn,

That's strange....

Looking at the I/O shield link, you should get sounds from 4 ports/jacks. You could have a defective mobo, the onboard audio in particular.

Ok, first, get whatever device that have the same 3,5mm jack, something like your mobile phone, or ipod. Try plugging the speakers to that, see if the sub's working. I never fiddled with the Z523, but some 2.1 speakers got a separate button to turn on/off the sub and/or a separate volume knob for the sub/bass. Because sometimes people just wanna use the satellites, without the sub (like in night time, for example). Perhaps the sub is set to off or low volume?

Apparently you have to cranck the bass up. I had set it too low for it to work it seems. Works fine now.

Hi guys! I bought the Logitech Z523's, tried to install them but I'm a bit stuck.

Some people probably will be facepalming at this point, but I can't really find an answer. I have an Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0, do I need a splitter for the subwoofer to work?

If I need a splitter for this, would this http://www.mediamarkt.be/mcs/product/HAMA-75043254-Cinch-adapater,98952,501137,661358.html?langId=-17 suffice?

This is how the I/O Shield looks http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-I-O-IO-SHIELD-BLENDE-BRACKET-SABERTOOTH-990FX-R2-0-/171121265782

Again, sorry for the (stupid?) question. All help is appreciated!

Should just work inherently.

Could you tell me in which jacket I have to plug the connector? I'm colorblind, so I can't really judge based on color. I thought I needed a splitter because sub and side are seperate jackets.

Bottom middle. And the sub will work just fine without its own channel.

Great. I thought line out was for something else. Thanks a lot!

If it isn't try top left.

No sound coming out of top left. Sub not working while plugged in line out. I'll see what I can do about that.

Yeah, my 2.1 sub got a separate volume knob too, the total volume plus the sub's volume, that's why I thought you might be having that problem.....:)

Well, it's working and rocking the sounds of liquid DnB now. Great speakers for €70, nice bass too. Thanks for helping!
