This is my first post on this forum so please tell if something is missing....

Sorry for my ill English.. my native language is not English
So i finally bought a "newer" pc..
Spec:
Mb: MSI B85m-e45
CPU: I3-4130
RAM: Kingston HyperX Genesis 4gb(1.65V @1600mhz) ddr3 --> got this one realy cheap
PSU: Corsair VS550 550W
GPU: Geforce Gt 220(1gb ddr2) --> this is from the old build
HDD: WD blue caviar 500gb 7200rpm --> also from old build
OS: w8.1(legal from university)
no odd
Also i have card reader and front usb and audio connections that are "inside the case"

Here is the problem.
So i put these components together and installed w8.1 on partition where previously i got w7.
Installation went fine... but after it was done it started giving error codes on the right lower side of screen.(didn't get to "MSI MILITARY CLASS BS", just showed gpu "thingy" and went black). I put the bootable usb back in an windows booted just fine.. here is the trick.. it booted only with usb plugged in....
So i reformatted hdd and installed w8.1 on empty hdd. For a month or so it went ok (still showed those codes on lower corner but everything worked and i was able to go into bios(uefi "thingy") and every option accessable)

BUT for the last week or so it started "hanging" on code A2 (didn't get to "MSI MILITARY CLASS BS", just showed gpu "thingy" and went black). AFTER restarting Pc booted ok (with those codes still visible).. Sometimes after two restarts.. but never to to the point where it never booted...

So i tried to capture those codes and they were:
99 -for a half second
90 or 9c - this blinks really fast.. i couldn't tell
A2 on this it "hangs" BUT NOT ALWAYS.. sometimes it boot just fine with first try.

I understand that problem could be from RAM stick put in wrong socket.. to Mb being faulty...

I am asking You. Could you help me figure this out?

I haven't really tried anything jet.. I would like a "brainstorm" of thing i could do so i have more than option to try..
For now i could try putting ram stick in different socket.. or using different sata port or sata cable..that's it.. i also have a spare hdd(samsung 250gb 7200rpm) and old psu(fortron fsp 400w) and vga(hd2400pro) and old mobo ram and cpu that i can "test" on..

Thank You in advance!

GPU thingy like this --> http://en.community.dell.com/cfs-file.ashx/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/3515/0876.IMAG0197.jpg

In other places i read that these 99,90,A2 etc are called "codes"  and it it like.. imagine first comes a GPU thingy then a black screen and in right lover corner are a number or a simbol or.. etc... thats what i define as "code" for something and form me these "codes" are "99, 90(9c) and A2" in that order.

Thats the GPU bios loadscreen.

I would suggest not using the nvidia GPU. I really think that the IGP you have in your CPU is basicly the same thing.

Did you try updating your bios? Might be some incompatability.

Ram rarely (as in, 0.1% of the cases...) causes problems. I'm acutally amazed that alot of people recommend checking the ram and shizzle: these are not the old days. Anyways, ram slots come color coded. Populate the same color and you should be fine..

Could also be a power supply problem.

I would use Aida64, go to tools and start the system stability test. Dont actually do the stability test, just leave it open as it meauseres temps, voltages, fans, loads, etc. Could help. you identify some problem.

But yea, first thing i would do would be to remove that gfx card and use the intel one, untill you have something that is worth using.

Yeah.. i was thinking about updating bios

I have 1 stick of ram... so i can put it in any of fore sockets... i know about colors n stuff so i read the manual and put ram in dimm0

I really hope it is not psu....

Aida64 show straight , dead line.. no anomaly.. Voltage are where it should be.. Temperature is normal at idle and at Skyrim gaming

And i really doubt that intel 4400 will run better than gt 220 at Skyrim...

As for those "codes".. in other forums and topics i figured out that 99 is used when some i/o devices are failing/not compatible... As for 90 and A2.. no luck

So i'm putting my rig to sleep and starting to mess around with things.. will post if or when problem is solved....

OK.. Here's what happened.. I unplugged front audio and usb and card reader..and put hdd sata into different socket..... and took out little speaker.. and for past 20 restarts everything is working.. but the codes are still visible after the gpu bios loadscreen...
