Hi,

I have a doubt regarding selecting processors. My team mostly consists of Web and Graphic designers and 3D modelling artists, what processor best suite for our purpose. Currently we use i3 cpu and it's way slow. :) .

Our web and graphic designers mostly use Photoshop and illustrator. 3D modelers use Unity 3D. We use Premier and after effects but not too much.

We are planning to replace the systems. We also consider iMac also.

Our budget for PC ic about $700-$1000.

I would like to know your guys expert suggetions.

Regards

Well if you like the Mac OS, you can always do this. An Intel PC is an Intel PC. :)

AMD isn't so easy to get running Mac OS. The 8320 can be a good chip on a budget. The I7 is a very good chip but can be expensive depending where you live. The Xeon 4c 8t can also be an option. Just a lower clocked I7 with some extra instructions but is usually a much better bargain.

The highest performer would be a 4790k on a OC, but a budget is a budget. So we would need to know what country this is. If in the U.S. and you live by a Microcenter a 4790k can fit in the budget.

i5 4690k/4670k  will propably be best option... i7 is generally better for these situations but you cant afford it in that budget in my opinion

Woudnt bother with anything else since this isnt enthusiast stuff no overclocking might cause instability for work.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116987&cm_re=i7_4790-_-19-116-987-_-Product

700-1k$ its not enough for something intel 6 core so yeah.

Also amd wise FX 8350 if you want to save some cash else get fx 9370 this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113346.

Depending on environment you might consider getting aftermarket cooler for all these 3 cpu's they will all need it.

Edit: If that budget needs a dedicated GPU for gpu accelerated stuff then you will have too look at fx 8320/8350 or intel i5 4690/4670 noK.If you'r machines already have gpu's then try go for i7 builds will give best results.

Xeons!

This is probably on the more expensive side of things, but if you are buying in bulk, the price should come down drastically on each build:

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DC9rRB
Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DC9rRB/by_merchant/

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1225 V3 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($220.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ASRock H97 PRO4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($76.66 @ Newegg) <-- There are less expensive motherboard options available. mATX with only 2 RAM slots, if 16GB is all you need, then that is your best option, it will save $30 per build.
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($139.99 @ Micro Center)
Storage: Sandisk Ultra Plus 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($109.00 @ Amazon)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($52.91 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon R9 290 4GB PCS+ Video Card  ($318.40 @ Newegg) <-- Insanely good price right now.
Case: Enermax ECA3253-BW ATX Mid Tower Case  ($29.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair CSM 450W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($29.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $977.92
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

^^^ that, and please don't get an iMac for real work. Their parts are not very strong, especially for the cost. Yes it may be apple so people think they are good for media production, but thats only because of software (and not as true as it once was). For actual performance, build your own.

Not bad but i would switch the GPU R9 290 with a cheaper one and get an i7 instead i dont think they need such gpu, unity 3D at least will do with less, dont know about other adobe stuff GPU accelaration but usually accelerations on gpu dont use it 100% so id go for strong cpu and an average gpu.

I don't know too much about the programs you are using, if they are CPU or GPU intensive.  I think the absolute best that you could do that is within budget is the new i7-4790(k) + Z97 or H97 motherboard.  The k version or the Z97 version is for overclocking if you decide that is necessary... The i7-4790k comes at an amazing 4.0Ghz-4.4Ghz stock and with hyperthreading should make work much faster.  I would recommend looking around on the internet, or asking competitors / colleagues about what they use in their systems for those programs.

Am from India . I think i7 is an expensive option.

Cosidering budget these are my options

1. AMD 3.5 AM3+ FX 6-Core Edition FX-6300
2. AMD 3.5 GHz AM3+ FX 8320 8 Core
3. AMD A10-7850K 4 GHz FM2+
4.Intel i5 3550 3.3 GHz LGA 1155 Core
5.Intel i5 3450 3.1 GHz LGA 1155 Core
6. Intel i5-3330

I mostly use this site to purchase http://www.flipkart.com/

The type of  3D modelling we deal with is simple and not so heavy.

what about a10 ?

absolutely not.  A10 is an APU, basically a CPU + GPU on a single die.  It provides both, but it is very weak for both.  An A10 is mainly for budget gamers, the i3s you have in your current systems are more powerful than an A10.

Get the FX8320, that will be your best option.
