Blue Haven Update: Now watercooled and FINISHED!

shawno

Is it worth choosing the Kraken G10 or should you choose a full water block?

For 290x or 290, you'll want a full water block. Kraken G10 only cools the GPU, but not the VRM and Vram with also get quite toasty

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

So what did you end up doing with the Kraken G10s and H50s?

You gotta do you girl. I always say you gotta do you. And if he's doing him, then who's doing you? Because right now, it seems like no one's doing you.

This. It's winter in aus right now so ambient is fine. In summer, it's only going to get worse for the vrms. At present they hover at around 85 deg c, short of setting up a fan to hover over the heatsinks, I just can't be bothered subjecting a card to those sort of temps.

I'm just going to bite the bullet and do a full kick ass build.

Still have the g10s, I'll make good use of the aios in my other pc's.

so far i have received all of the following:

EK plexi waterblocks

EK Cpu cooler

Hose

1x ek 360 radiator

primochill hose

Coming in the next day or two, HURRY POSTMAN!!!

Corsair 750D! Finally picked the case!

1x 240MM XSPC rad

1x XSPC photon D5 res/pump combo

Corsair sp120 QE fans

EK GPU sli/xfire fitting

heaps of barrow (BP) fittings

and some other bits n pieces.

i should really start a new build... (found how to edit build name! now known as Blue Haven)

Anyhoo, will be going blue lighting and coolant as im running the blue z77 board until i find a decent board i like... X99... :P

Plans are:

black acrylic background on the 750D insides

remove visable HDD trays and relocate the platter harddrives to the 5.25 bay and hide them

toss out the optical drive and get an external one

put a false 5.25 bay door in to hide fan controller, sort of on a piano hinge.

Any aussies know where to get the EVGA PSU custom braided cables? Looks like EVGA dont ship to aus yet :(

Sorry about the pics, taken on the original HTC one. Cameras pretty rubbish.

So after installing everything I ran heaven benchmark for 30 mins with max temp at 45 degrees on the cards at 4k. Firestrike was 42 degrees.

It's a win!
