Hello, first thank you for visiting this thread and thanks for replying.

First of all i should start that i am building a new rig (For the first time, but i'm quite well orientated with computers and i know what im chosing).

I'm new to water cooling and i had a water cooler on my mind for a long time, so it is either a h100i or i go for a cheaper Hyper 212 EVO(air) to have larger HDD + SSD.

There is basically 2 options.

1. Go for H100i and have 120GB SSD (3k HyperX from Kingston) + 1TB WD Caviar Black

2. Go for Hyper 212 EVO have 240GB SSD (3k HyperX From Kingston) + 2TB WD Caviar Black

My processor is i7 4790k if anyone wants to know and i plan some minor overclocks.

Can anyone recommend the h100i as i said im NEW to watercooling and i'm not sure if it is safe and efficient.

I second that; go for option number two. The CM Hyper 212 EVO is great anyways, and you get a lot more out of the second option.

Depends on how much storage you need, a 1TB drive is enough, I have that on my gaming rig and I haven't filled it up, plus you have watercooling for overclocking! If you REALLY need the space then go with the other option

One day I will have my GTX 970. One day. PC specs are at my profile.

Not sure how to check what part works with what? Check out my compatibility guide!

Do you guys think i will be able to OC the 4790k with the Hyper 212 EVO? (Minor overclock)

Yes, that cooler is sufficient for a minor overclock. But imho I would take the first option, depending on how you utilise the space 1tb can be enough. With the h100 you can push for larger more noticeable overclocks.

Well as i am here typing to you on my old PC, i do have a 2TB HDD and there is only 700GB left so hmm, i do think i store A LOT of games.

Im also wondering if the Hyper 212 EVO could overclock the i7 4790k without going to like 80'C

It all depends on how good chip you get. Overclocking itself can be done even with stock cooling. Problem will come with raising voltage inorder to achieve higher stable clocks.

IMO both options comes down to your requirements, do you need a large ssd for boot to store a lot of games your frequently play? If you also don't plan to oc heavily, the 212evo is what you want. Overall I say number 2 since you only want a minor overclock, the h100i isn't going to make your performance better in that sense.
