need help with a new pc build

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

No, that's not idle. Idle power draw should be below 100w. Pcpartpicker calculates power draw from TDP and not the actual power draw. 170w is the TDP of the 760 at load.

The system should pull ~350w at load. Also, no..you don't add the idle and max load--that's silly.

1. A decent 500w psu is already more than enough--any more is overkill. Something like the cx500 would be fine.

2. 80 plus bronze is pretty standard nowadays.
3. Everything is compatible.

i'll check it ... i had previously amd 3870x2 and i also have 650m in my laptop ... i think nvidia has better support

Hello,
I am building a mini itx gaming pc of the following specs:
cpu : i5 4460
gpu: msi 760 2gb
motherboard: h81m-itx asrock
ram: 8gb
hdd: 1tb western digital
case: silverstone sg08 lite

on partpicker.com this build made a total of power usage of 324 with the gpu calculated at 170W only !! i guess thats at idle. This specific gpu review indicated that on max load it can reach to max of 377W. So adding the difference that means the total power usage at max load should be around a maximum of 550W.

-) Should i get a PSU of 550W or 650W or higher at 750W ??
-) should i get 80+ psu or a normal ?? i dont OC and probably in one year i'll upgrade the pc again so i dont care if the psu lasts for 5 or 10 or 20 years etc xD ... i just want it able to run the system in perfect condition and not heating up :)
-) last question do u think this build fits well together or did i miss any compatibility issue ?

i did check linus videos especially regarding PSUs and they were very helpful but i am still confused what should i choose and i am also limited by specific size of 140mm length non modular to fit in my case :) ... i was thinking about a cooler master extreme 2 725 or 625 W ... i also dont want to spend huge amount of money but i will consider all proposed psu choices :)

Thank you !!!

get a 550wats PSU, but never cheap out on a PSU!

also, get a 280x, it's just better then the 760

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/770?vs=854

benchmark as evidence (280x is pretty much a rebadged 7970)
