So I have had this problem for a while now. Randomly when I am just on my pc my internet stops working, windows says I am not connected to the internet. But when I look at the back of my motherboard where my Ethernet cable is plugged in the LED is still showing internet connectivity. I know that it is not malware, because I re-installed windows. I know its not an update because windows says that my Ethernet drivers are up to date. It is also not my internet because other people in my house are not having this problem. I have consulted my tech friends and none of them know what it is. If someone knows PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME it is the most infuriating thing I have ever come across!!!!

could it be your cable?

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

If its persists then try these

  1. Check Physical faults IE the cable and the motherboard ethernet adapter.
  2. Open performance monitor and check what is using your network and disable it or End Process in Task manager.
  3. Boot in Safe Mode with Networking and see if your connection drops or stops working.
  •       If it works correctly in Safe Mode then you have software installed that could be stopping or conflicting with your network drives.

If so uninstall recent software or do a system restore to before you had the problem.

You can try to uninstall ALL Network Drivers and delete the driver, then Reboot and let windows re install them.
