Idle temps 780 Asus

I was discussing with a guy on the fact that he doesn't believe that my gpu in idle in the winter stays at 19°C. He keeps telling me that is impossible and that you only get a temp like that with watercooling. My room in winter is really cold usally 17°C and I think is normal with a room temperature like that to have a gpu temp around that number.
Maybe I'm just crazy and I'm remembering stuff that is not true, but I hope that you guys can solve this doubt for me!

If the ambient temp is 17C you're not idling at 19C. No way it's happening.

My chassis is 28C and my Asus GTX 780 DirectCU II Overclocked idles at 29C... so if your room is 17C and you have good airflow, definately possible

I actually don't have any fan in my "case", is just a 40€ case without the panels. Does it matter when the temperature is detected? I mean is it lower just after turning on the computer or it doesn't change anything?

you need to throw some fans in it, just get some $5 nobrand ones.

I think I might change the entire case since my gpu doesn't even fit in it, so I prefer waiting for the fans. Also I don't have any temperature issues even in summer.

I have 2 of them and they are both sitting at 25°C with an ambient temperature of 23°C.

Depends on which temp you're reading, core or CPU (tin). Core temp is usually lower.

I honestly don't know, on afterburner it just says "GPU Temperature".
