I am a gamer who wants to build a moderate gaming pc, but I have never even thought of what I need to do to make one. For starters I have gotten some parts together and I need to make sure they are all compatible, here is a link to a amazon wish list of all of the parts http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/RR7OYHKG2KM/ref=cm_wl_rlist_go_o? , In the future I want to get into 3d modeling and I am currently making videos on youtube

Well, I own the same Motherboard and GPU. The Motherboard sound is very good and the GPU runs everything without problems

But i will swap out the hybrid 2 tb drive with a standerd hdd

Go with a 4670k, or swap out to z97

You may not need 16 gb of ram, but it is nice to have some spare headroom

If you want a green build, you may swap the NZXT fan out with some bitfenix alchemy led strips instead, and get another corsair fan.

At last, i will go with a sp fan instead of a airflow fan

Go for a Intel i5 4670K, i5 3570K (older but good possessor) or Intel pentium n3528. You don't need butt-kick CPU's for gaming.

The 290 AMD is actully faster than the N770 and $360 at Amazon. I recommend that.

16GB of Ram is too much for gaming, that is if all you are doing is gaming. By the looks of your components, you are NOT a moderate gamer.  ;)

As far as compatibility it is good... I use 16 gigs for gaming and its great so don't listen to anyone else... jk. It's overkill but I did it because it was a good deal. However, the dvd drive is usb and might not work without windows installed so you might have to put it in another computer and install the Windows Installer on a flash drive.

I want the 16GB of ram for content creation in the future and I also want something better that a i5 4670k, I would like to keep my motherboard and I want the sshd for that slight performance improvement considering that i am going to put most of my games on it. Will defiantly get some green led strips

I was wondering if that would work or not, thanks :)

k, anything to keep in mind when building a pc? I have herd that the actual building part is easy and the driver's and software part is hard.

go to nvidias website and download the latest drivers.

for the rest i just installed all the other drivers from the CD you get with your motherboard. (keep in mind you have to install these first, unless you cant connect to the internet and stuff)

Oh and by the way, dont drop your ssd on the floor like i did when i was building mine. (IT DID NOT TAKE DMG, but you dont feel good when it happens

Edit:

again, remember your mobo if not full size atx, a bit narrow
