New Mouse without input lag

Go to solution Solved by MeteoricSnax,

thanks for suggestions and after some trial and error i have ended up with a Mionix Naos 5000 (the same model linus used to prefer :D).

and i understand why. it is a realy nice mouse. the sensor is quite to my liking and it has no input lag or non-adjustable acceleration.

Hello everyone,

i have just bought a brand new Corsair M65 and the first one i got was DOA. now i have gotten myself a new, from the rma.

the new problem with it is that the input lag i making it impossible to play fps and such.

so now i am looking for new good mouse without the avago 9800 (i have ruled out that the sensor is the problem. other have found this sensor to have some sort of input lag)

any good suggestions? i have looked at the roccat kone xtd as i have heard nothing about lag with that one, so...

They all have input lag. It's just very very minimum.

A mouse with noticeable input lag? Never heard of that

I can however tell you Roccat makes great gaming mice, I own the original Kone and it's amazing.

I have a G500, along with a bunch of my friends. We LOVE them. Never had one issue with a g500 or a g5. Everyone I know with a G500 had a G5 previously, and all of those old G5's still work fine, it was just time for an upgrade ;)

my problem is that ,although all mice have slight input lag, it is not as noticeable as what i am experiencing with this mouse. and i am very picky about lag and delay :(

and i don't like the scroll wheel most logitech have. they feel flimsy and not very accurate.

also the coating on top of the G500 makes my hands sweaty.

EDIT: i don't mean flimsy, just wobbly and heavy ;)

The G400S is a great mouse imo with its awesome gaming software that Logitech has.

i am 100% sure that it is input lag. it is like you say, a slight delay between me moving the mouse and movement on the screen. it is like trying to use a pc on a tv that has the most horrible input lag, if you know what i am talking about. so when i try to select anything in a fast swipe, it goes too far and it sometimes feels like it has a little acceleration.

i am so sensitive that i cant play on consoles

If you are so concerned about input lag, you might want to get a 120/144hz monitor, one of those will also drasticly reduce the input lag of your setup ;)

As far as mice go have a look at the roccat kone pure, a friend of mine has it and once I have the money, I'll also get one, it has a very nice surface and the scroll wheel feels VERY sturdy, input lag is probably fine, it has a 1000hz polling rate, which basicly means a max of 1ms input lag from your mouse ;)

Jrchristian, i had been thinking about getting a optical mouse, but the dpi on the ones i considered weren't high enough for me. i am currently using 4000 dpi right now. i am affraid that 4000 dpi wont be enough for me in the future so i am happy with using a laser sensor until something faster comes out (that isn't made by razer. i have 3 out of 3 dead or broken razer products laying around )

Alex, i have already gotten the mionix naos 5000. and those 120/144Hz monitors have horrible viewing angles and not so good colours. btw, i have a dell 2713 and i'm never going back to 1080p :P but i cant really tell any difference between them in terms of response time.

If you are so picky about input lag, you should consider a 120/144hz monitor, it more than halves the max input lag of your monitor just because of the refresh rate:

60hz - 16.67ms MAX

120hz - 8.33ms MAX

144hz - 6.94ms MAX

But it's up to you, I personaly can't really work on 60hz monitors anymore due to the huge input lag, you might want to wait for proper 1440p 120hz monitors ;)
