Ok, so randomly my computer is slowing down, and something is using up half my memory. It goes away upon restart, back down to about 1.2 gigs at most when browsing a single page. I cannot find anything in the task manager that's out of place or using too much memory.

Could one of my memory sticks be failing or improperly seated?

I have two adata 4 gig 1600's. the yellow ones with the big heatspreader.

It happens randomly when I'm browsing. Usually when I have a couple tabs on two windows of F.F. It never happens when gaming. It's like something freezes things up, I close everything. And yet the memory is still in use.

Edit: All I have open is youtube, ltt, newegg, maybe frozencpu. about 2 or 3 of each.

Lost likely one of the sticks is either dead or miss placed

He could have a try at reinstalling the sticks and running Memtest86, could be worth a shot.

Firefox has been known to eat memory. Have you tried a different browser such as chrome?

Chrome equally eats RAM a lot

but will be much stable
