Im having a hard time to choose but i want to build a AMD build desktop that can handle gaming and other things as well

Im looking for processor that can at least be on par with an I5 3570k/4570k and based on your experience a better processor among those AMD processors

im thinking for a processor like 7850k of AMD or 7700k. 8350 would be out of my budget but at least a processor with a price like for 7700k or less that can get a good fps on online games.

Other opinion would help thanks.

You're not really going to find any AMD processors on par with the top of the line i5s. How about an 8320?

Performancewise the only amd cpu that is en par with the i5 you mention is the FX 8350 (I won't even consider the 9370 and 9590, they are a bad choice and you shouldn't get them). From what I hear the 7850k is a bit too expensive for what it is. If it fits in your budget, I would go for an FX 8320, that's where bang for the buck is atm. You can overclock it to be equal to an 8350 if you get a good chip, too. If it doesn't fit, the next step is an FX 6300, which can be oc's to a 6350. Bare in mind these don't have the integrated gpu though. I still wouldn't suggest an apu for a gaming desktop, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense since you're probably going to add an external gpu anyway.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Oh what's the total budget for your build?

The 8320 is a good budget option if you want something cheaper than an i5.  Performance wise it's not as strong, but it should still perform well enough for most games. However like @Sauron mentioned you will need a sepearate graphics card since the processor doesn't have integrated graphics.

The A10-7850K (and 7700K) are APU's which have decently strong integrated graphics right on the chip alongside the CPU. Since you're planning to run a much more powerful dedicated graphics card, it's pointless to spend that kind of money for integrated graphics you won't be using. To put things in perspective, the closest equivalent to the A10-7850K would be the Athlon X4 760K paired with an R7-240/250 graphics card.

If you can give us a total budget and let us know if you need an operating system, manitor etc. then we can help you build a good gaming rig to suit your needs.

The closest AMD equivalent to the i5-3570K and 4670K (There's no such thing as the 4570K, only 4570), in terms of gaming performance would be the FX-8350.

Yeah, they are fine, but I'd step up to a 4690K for overclocking ability.

intel option is slightly over budget, you could get a locked variant/motherboard if you don't wish to oc.

  • 2 weeks later...

thanks for the reply guys..

ok i tried checking the CPU here in our country and im from PH btw

for the CPU i went to I5-4590
(i cant find any i5-4690k or I5-4590k so i went ahead with this one)
For mobo i go for H97M-D3H i think its a great motherboard that i have the capacity to go for more than 2 sticks of ram and an expansion for another video card

i got 600w PSU i dunno what exact brand tho and im feeling like its bottlenecking my CPU and MOBO + gpu do u think i should go for a higher watt PSU or something else ?

I got radeon 7770 direct CU II TOP edition

im playing game dragon nest, if i play w/o recording its not a problem tho if its 8v8 or 16v16 pvp its laggy that my FPS drops to 24 but if not i got a stable FPS from 50 above but if i record im having FPS dips that even reaches 14 or lesser when i check my FPS using fraps can you guys tell me what i should upgrade next as well and some tips to lessen the lag while recording even if i got a system build like this.

(Other specs)

8gb of ram

1x 4gb

2x 2gb

Windows 7 64 bit

thanks and cheers
