Hello I have a MSI GTX780TF OC 3GB. Its  a pretty good card and I have been gaming with it for the past 3-4 months.

When gaming I use the OC mode usning MSI gaming app. Which i have seen in the Afterburner software only adds about 55 to the core clock. The in game boost clock reaches about 1058 probably(i have to check).

I want to manually overclock and i have never done this before. Is there any comprehensive guide which I can follow to make a safe overclock?

Also about graphical artifacts, I have know idea how to spot them. In some article it shows as white snow like artifacts and in others i read they are

bright blue  and green spots. Which is it? Also when running Unigine valley benchmark in stock settings and see some white polygons or something which I am

not sure if graphical artifacts or not.

P.S. I live in a country where weather is pretty hot and humid and ambient temps are pretty much always about 30-35 degree Celsius.

Safe overclocking tips:

Don't touch the card's bios.

Monitor your temperatures, they should stay below 85C just for extra safety.

Stress test the cards to test stability.

Artifacts are anything abnormal that shouldn't be on your screen.

find someone that have your card OC'd and see what they put it to, then you do the same, test the stability and watch your PC crash, then you lower it until it stops crashing :)

good start is +100Mhz to boost clock and +300 to Memory Clock speed, that should be stable, but the boost clock might not push past 130 so it should be easy enough to find a stable place.

also newer cards such as my 780 you can just put at max voltage and not bother with it afterwards.

So I have tried a few things today. Tweaked the card through Afterburner. Here's what I have done

Core voltage +37mv

Power Limit 101%

Temp Limit 85C (priority)

Core Clock +120 making the base clock 1022 and boost 1074.

I have set a custom fan curve also.

After 3 pass In the Unigine Heaven benchmark I have not seen any artifacts. The max temp reaches 71C.

and The Clock reaches 1150. But as it reaches 70 it reduces the clock to 1124/1137. Is it absolutely necessary to keep the temp always under 70C?

So it is throttling it a little bit as Kepler boost is set to throttle at 70C. Am I OK or need to change anything ?
