H440 Led Light Mod

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

Probably not. LED strips will use over 10W of power, something that small switch was not intended for. I would check to see if anyone has done it before, or if the switch is rated for that kind of power.

H440 has this switch in the back that lit up the NZXT sign in PSU Shroud and Back I/O Panel. Can I mod it and connect 2 led strips in it. So that the led light will be controlled by that switch?

If not, is there any other way to have a switch to those led light. So i can only lit it in the evening. Having lit led light in the morning makes no sense for me. :)

You can mod a vandal switch to your case, but that will take some drilling and wiring experience. The best way would be to keep that switch separate, and buy some LED strips that you can control separately such as the NZXT hue

imo you could

the plug for the leds on psu cover is at the bottom back side of the case in case you wanna try, but you'd need some sort of a splitter

the power for those leds come from a molex, so i don't see a problem really

The problem is, I don't know how to do it. Haha. That's why I posted this one here so if there is anyone who did this before might help me somehow. :)

i know the connector for psu cover led loks like this

XK-STROBE-SPLIT-2.jpg

dunno what connector would be on the strip you'd buy, but if it's the same, just get one of these y splitters

if it doesn't, i saw some splitter while looking for this image, that had more cables coming out and with different plugs, so that might help if the led strip doesn't have the same plug
