Port forwarding is necessary if you're connecting to a device that's not in the same local network as you. Otherwise the only address you will have is the one to your router and no further in than that.

It makes me laugh that on the home page of the TeamViewer website they say that the software allows you to "Remote control any computer of Mac over the internet."

Yes, TeamViewer. Macs are certainly not real computers. :D

Teamviewer, definitely.

You're and your are not the same. Neither are their, there, and they're. Defiantly and Definitely are definitely not the same. Definately and Rediculous are not words, and you should feel bad for misspelling them. If English is your first language, you don't have a learning disorder, and you get any of these wrong, you are making the entire forum slightly dumber by doing so. Please take the extra three seconds to type properly, and have a nice day.

My vote goes for RealVNC, although port forwarding is somewhat required. If you have a UPnP router, this step can be avoided.

Teamviewer or Splashtop.

Personally I found Splashtop to have less issues with latency.

Definitely Splashtop, my favorite. I use RealVNC to access my RaspberryPi over LAN, but I prefer Splashtop for it's ease of use and speed
