Random Frame Drop!?

Go to solution Solved by jacobcollins25,

So I just found out that the problem was actually the firmware on the hard drive itself. I installed the patch from WD's website and it works perfectly without the slightest frame drop now.

While playing games on my computer I randomly have a drastic frame drop. When I say drastic I mean 180+ to 1-3 just for a brief second and then it goes back to normal. I have no Idea what it could be. If you want to check out my system it's saved on my profile, but I don't think it's a hardware issue.

hmm can you use GPU-Z to see the GPU load and temps?

which game will you get this trouble?

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Alright, I just tested and my max GPU load @52.0 and my max GPU temp is @42.0. Also this happen's with every game I have not anything specific. And if it means anything, I play everything in the ultra setting.

which nVidia driver are you on currently?

so I am guessing you are on watercooling?

Might be your HDD. When your HDD stutters, your game might freeze for a brief second since it has to load it's resources.

now that I noticed could be that

The driver is 337.88 and yeah I'm running a full water cooled loop.

could be that reason

i use to have this issue with Euro truck and by putting it on one of the SSDs it fixed it if not the problem do you have any overclocks on your CPU RAM GPU if so try running them at stock and see if it still happens... what games causes this to happen?
