First time using Windows 8.1 pro...

And I hate it already, I cant find anything the normal way and that whatever it's called when I press to the start button on the keyboard is annoying as hell, can I remove it?

where is "My pc"?

how do i remove bing?

Actually how do I do anything!?

Your special and im confused as fuck. going from Win XP to 7 was easier then 7 to 8.1

I actually was pissed when I screwed Windows 8.1 up and I had to use Windows 7.

Actually how do I do anything!?

Configure your start menu to go to the start screen instead of apps list.

 

Sort through the apps and pin everything you use to start screen instead.

 

Pin "Your PC" there too, and make it a large tile so you can't miss it.

 

IMO the new start screen and apps menu is much, much more better than the way older Windows handled it. Take a few minutes to configure and actually work with it.

Oh, and to give you an idea of how I had mine all set up, this is mine. Even at such a low resolution (1024x768) I was able to do things MUCH faster than a normal Start menu.

Fancy, but i use RocketDock so it´s not all that useful for me.

And it makes wallpapers close to useless :(

And i got 3 monitors.

what do you mean? You can move your mouse back over to the bottom left and click the windows button, hit the windows key, or hit escape.

 

in other windows alt f4 works just fine, but that's a hassle that usually isn't required (except for that damned photo app, but use 3rd party to handle that)

Wait..so alt f4 is the only appropriate way to close a window?!?!? :/ GG win 8

im going to have like 20 stuff on my Alt Tab screen the way i use my pc.

I still don't get what you mean, what windows 8 pages?

 

8.1 functions practically the same as 7 except for the start menu for me.

The Metro type windows. all of them. unlike any old "normal" window there is no Minimise, size change or X button in the top right corner. 

But as you said, Alt F4 fixes that, ill have to se if i can macro that command to a button.

Don't use them? There's nothing you need in them except to change maybe the settings a few times after you recently install 8.1. But the start button in the bottom left or alt f4 as earlier mentioned will close it out.

Hopefully i wont need to, that thing Noire linked seems to have fixed most of my displeases.

Say @helping, any way to boot right to the desktop?

I don't like that i have too login all the time AND go from the Metro UI on all the 3 Screens to the desktop.

the options are under navigation, right click task bar and click properties.

Unfortunately windows 8.1 isn't compatible with rocket dock (I love it so much :c) however, all I did when I moved was, boot into the desktop (skipping the start screen thingy) and get classic shell, to bring back the windows 7 start menu, changed my start button to something cool and also I made it not ask for my password, but that's just me. Hope this helps!

 

 

Classic Shell is a program I recommend for people who have come from windows 7 to windows 8/.1 and want the look of windows7.

Rocketdock does not give enough bars. :P i have 3 monitors and i want 1 each. Object dock fixed this. but the reason i still use Rocket as well is because sometimes Object crashes on me so.

I have no Icons on 2 of my screens so its very clean. just a bunch of Stuff with Rainmeter
