Windows detects incorrect hdd capacity

Hey folks, could use some help here:

 

I bought 2x 4TB WD Red drives today to create a RAID 1 array. Windows detects them, however with the incorrect capacity. On the other hand, Intel Matrix Storage Console detects the correct capacity (See attached picture).

 

The Intel Storage Manager (Ctrl + I during POST) also detects the same drive size as Windows, so my guess is it has to do something with the chipset. I feel like a firmware update should solve the issue, but I can't find info about that.

 

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

 

 

Current configurations:

 

OS - Win 8 x64

M/B: Asus P6X58D Premium (w/ Intel ICH10R chipset)

Format the drive as GPT. To do this right click where it says Disk 1 on Disk management and click on partition as GPT

 

Oh sorry I forgot to mention that part - it's already formatted as a GPT.

I think you missed the point... Yes there's a ~10% difference between the advertised xTB and what your computer sees due to the capacity calculation done in base 10 vs base 2. But when the reported size goes from 4 TB to under 2...there's clearly a different problem.
