Need Help (Opinions/Suggestions)

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

So should I even go 1440p or 144hz? I am eventually going to have 3 of them so $350x3 is a little scary for just displays.

Like I said, you'd have to sacrifice the better viewing angles and color of IPS if you wanted to go 144hz.

Go with a 1440p IPs panel--it's what you're basically asking for.

So right now I have a Haier LE24F33800 (60hz, idk response time, 1080p). 1. Should I upgrade? 2. What should I upgrade to? ($250ish) 3. Should I return and get $180 back, or keep it and use it with new monitor. I would like to eventually have 3 monitors and MAYBE MAYBE have an auxiliary one. I want around 5 or less ms response, and tell me if I should get 1080p, 1440p, or 1600p with 60hz or 144hz. I know that 1440p has a sweet-spot of 24'', and I REALLY like the feel of a 24''. I REALLY care about the color from an angle (I can stand one normally colored monitor, a pink one on the left and a blue one on the right), but viewing from head-on, I NEED it spot on. There is no way I am going to do 4K, even though I have all the Thunderbolt stuff ready. Please leave recommendations (24'', $250ish, 5ms, and hopefully higher than 1080p)

I trip to make the fall shorter

The response time spec is generally bull. Ignore it.

What kind of dollars are you using?

What's the system being used for?

Btw, 24" definitely isn't the sweet spot of 1440p--haven't even seen of such a display.

(From priority) 1. Gaming 2. Video Editing (Proffesional) 3. Art

If color accuracy is a big issue and you need 10-bit color, get a PA panel and return your current display: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-pa248q

If not so much, return your current display and get 2 nice IPS panels: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/dell-monitor-s2340m

Not if you have to sacrifice the color accuracy of an IPS panel.

Isn't contrast ratio the amount of times brighter something can be than something being darker?( I have no Idea how to explain it) So a 1000:1 would be bad cuz I have 1,000,000:1??? Also forgot to ask, is it better to higher resolution or higher anti-alaiasing?

The contrast ratio spec is also bull and just used for marketing. Ignore it.

Higher resolution is always better when you have the power to push the pixels.

What would be a good 1440p monitor that can 3way (I don't know what it is called when you have three of them) and the left and right dont look pinkish. Or actually, should I go for 144hz instead? These monitors are going to be used for gaming. 1440p vs 144hz which one? Can you please list a bunch???

Any display can be used with others as long as your graphics card can support them.

To go high frequency, you'd likely need to go TN which has drastically worse colors and viewing angles compared to IPS.

With the price range you're looking at, you'd have to settle for a cheaper Korean display if you want 1440p: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2RY0X59885
