Setup Check

Hey,

 

Just doing a post to see if anybody has any input to whether or not I should stay the course or change items in my upcoming build.

 

PSU: Corsair RM1000 80+ Gold

 

Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 7

 

Ram: G-Skill 8GB Ripjaws 2133 (Dual kit)

 

CPU: Intel i7 4790k

 

GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 290 (x2 Crossfire - already have)

 

SSD: Samsung 840 EVO SSD 120GBx2 (Raid 0)

 

OS: Windows 8.1 / Windows 7 Professional (?)

 

Have been wanting to upgrade my PC for sometime and saved up some $$$ to hopefully make a lasting build which I use Gaming and streaming for friends. Hope to run at 5760x1080@60fps and 1920x1080@120fps. 

 

Can anybody let me know how windows 8.1 handles compared to 7, the only reason I was going to install it was because of the apparent gaming performance increase.

Personally, I would go with Windows 8.1, so it looks pretty good to me.

 

EDIT: But you could save some money and get 1866 or even 1600MHz RAM.

Ive heard quite a few times that it increases performance a bit but ive never really tried it for gaming so I don't know

Yeah I was hoping I could save some money on that end but i can pick the ram up in op for £58 and most of the 1600 variants are the same price or more!

The high speed ram is nice for show off but dont make that much differanse. I think 8.1 is the best
