Actually, might not stick to the grate. However, there's still ample room on the ear cup to the side of the grate:

So I was gonna buy a Sennheiser 518 and then I noticed that it had a grate design (punpunpunpun). Will the grate make the modmic not able to stick?

Nope it should work fine.
