what to upgrade first

so, my rig is a radeon 6670, an athlon 5600+,4gb of ddr2,a cx 500M and a shitty case. what should I upgrade first? I was thinking getting an i5 4670k/4690k with a new mobo and case (including ram) and getting an r9 290 or a 280x later... what do you think?? maybe i should get a gpu first?

upgrade the CPU and motherboard first

I think the cpu gets the priority, after all it is the core element and getting a very powerful gpu with your current apu would cause it to bottleneck, making it less than optimal for your money. If you aren't on a tight budget, i5 4690k + Asus z97-a + 8gb hyperx 1600 ram should be perfect.

thats what i am thinking since it will come under 400 EUR most likely

Case first, then platform, then drives, then GPU.
