Worth the wait?

Hi, I recently bought some new parts and pre-ordered the I5 4690k. I was wondering if it was worth the wait for the processor to actually be released or just go for the I5 4670k?

 

Currently i have an AMD FX 6300 processor and im wanting something more powerful, and i seen the 4690k, i decided to spend my bday money on getting a water block, an Asrock Z97 killer motherboard and pre-ordered the processor. Little did i know however was it's apparently going to be released within Q3 instead, people have said it will be released at the end of September so i just don't know if it's worth the wait anymore or just go for the 4670k.

 

Any help would be really appreciated! really wanted this processor but now that i see the legit release date, i am starting to have some "doubts."

I don't think it's really that long until it should be released, I'd say just wait. Especially if you've already ordered the Z97.

The Strange thing is, it may be "released" in the us, it still says Pre-order on Newegg for me(hope this isn't advertising lol). but either way, guess i'll stick with the 4690k! thanks for the advice! and yes, i do plan to overclock

Hm, alright guess i'll wait for a little while, really looking forward to this processor, from what i had heard, it's a pretty good overclocker, just hope it's true, lol.

I would wait if you´ve got anyway already the Z97 board. DCs have done nice in several benchmarks of all the leading hardware sites... I think it is worth the wait .

yea, im gonna wait. i hope it gets released before the end of september, from what i have heard it will be released on the end of Q3'14. i just hope that's not true lol

Haha I know what you mean the Haswell E is just announced and I can hardly wait to see these new CPU´s been released . I´m with you bro... I´m with you!

The Haswell-E looks very promising actually. i really want to see the new Broadwell too.

Not much of a difference with the refresh Haswell chips. Just better thermal compound application.
