CPU cooler that mounts AMD

Go to solution Solved by KamiKatze,

Yes there is a cut out, i want no screws because it's easier ;) BTW do you need alcohol to get the thermal compound off or can you do it only with toilet paper?

Oh really? Just get a proper CPU cooler. It would give your FX 6300 some overclocking headroom. Don't be a wuss, read the manual and do it! :D Most of them aren't that difficult. The CM Hyper 212 EVO is a bit difficult for my taste but thermaltake coolers are alright to mount. just look at some instruction videos on youtube, it's not that hard! :D

For cleaning the CPU: I would advise to use rubbing alcohol or something similar. The stuff that you use should most importantly evaporate without leving and residue. De-ionized water would work but the thermal compound is made up from polymers which solve better in alcohol. Be careful with toilet paper, use coffee filters for your final result, coffee filter doesn't leave lints.

I would like a CPU cooler that mounts on AMD sockets without using any backplate or stuff like that, like the Cooler Master TX3, but the thing i don't like about that is that you have to suck air from the graphics card and blow it to the top, and i don't have any ventilation in the top, so i would like one that blows air to the back of the case.

The TX3 can be oriented pointing towards the back.

Not with AMD mounting because that only goes in one way.

You need to screw that in don't you?

Yes, and i can say the AMD mounting is very shitty!

Why is it that you want one without a backplate? Is there not cut out on the back of your motherboard tray? Taking out the motherboard for a cooler mount isn't that big of a deal, just take your time and do it.

who cares...
