Dumb question.

Hey, I have a pretty dumb question about RAM.As I know dual channel memory is best to get in pairs, but how much would it hurt if I get a single 8GB dim instead of 2*4 GB?

It doesn't matter, you won't notice a difference and whenever you add a second stick you can run it in dual channel anyway.

Great, because I can get single 8GB cheaper then 2*4GB, and if it really doesnt makes noticable difference, Im a happy panda! :3

yep it wont make a difference

It makes no difference in gaming and most apps, and 5% slower in other stuff like WinRAR extracting.

 

It uses less power and creates less heat though, and since no affect on most apps, it's fine.
