1. How good does the ATH-AG1 sound? (Speakers)

2. How good does the DT880 600 ohm sound?

3. Which should I get, if I get ATH-AG1, I am set, but DT880 600 ohm, I need soundcard, dac, amp, and a modmic 4.0?

4. Is it worth to get DT880, I can afford ATH-AG1.

5. (I know this doesn't belong here) What CPU cooler should I get for 4930k@4.5ghz, and should I even get a 4930k? I was looking at the Dark Rock Pro 3 btw

ATH-AG1 is like $100 overpriced so personally I wouldn't get it. Also all the DT880s sound pretty much the same so the Pro 250 ohm version would be the best but with the DT990 being $50 less, I suggest you go for that instead. Those might need an amp but you should try it on your motherboard first. If it doesn't get loud enough, you can get a Fiio E6, E11, or o2 amp. Also I am a fan of AIO liquid coolers so H100 or H110 would be my personal option. Dark Rock Pro 3 or the Phanteks one would probably be what I would go for on the air cooler side.

The 600 ohm DT 880 has less treble in the top octave but it's not worth the extra cost over the 250 ohm pro. Dark Rock Pro 3 is a good choice of cooler. I'm a fan of fans and Be quiet makes good ones.

If you go for the 990 keep in mind that it has a lot of upper bass and low mids compared to the flatter 880.

What would be a good headset for gaming/electro creation. I am going to be wearing these for a VERY long time. I'm using A40's and don't have complaints about comfort.

I think DT990 and modmic is a great choice for that. I don't think you should be spending any more than that on your first pair of real headphones. Maybe try it before you go out and spend $300 or $400.

What would be a good gaming/electro music creation? I am going to be wearing them for a VERY long time, and I don't have any complaints about my A40's comfort wise. Budget around $250-$320. But minus $50 for a modmic if headset doesn't have one. I've never tried Closed-ear, so the DT880's would be on the safe side.

You mean you haven't tried open? A40 are closed. And I actually missed the music creation part. You probably shouldn't get those for music creation. You would want something more neutral like AKG K701. You actually just missed the great sale on the AKG Q701 on Massdrop.

Why are you pairing a hexacore CPU with such a budget cooling solution?

I thought a40s were open and a50s were cloesed..?

The A40 can be semi open or completely closed depending on the plates you use but they should sound closer to closed than open.

I was going to go H100i, but my brother has it and is a tad too loud, plus I'm going to have my case open, and shoved against an ac vent, so I dont really need $100 on a cpu cooler

If you're planning to create music, and using them for a very long time, it's highly recommended that you find an audio store where they have demo units of various headphones, something like this one: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/147249-candy-store-for-audio-manias/ Go to other towns if you have to, it's worth it.

Try them for yourself, to find the one that really suits you. Chat around with the store guy/girl about what you're looking for to narrow down the options. Real audio stores are usually tended by knowledgeable in audio people.

It's like asking, 'I like a perfume that's soft but manly, a little spicy smell but not too much, strong but not punchy, and a bit of flower scent. What perfume should I get?' Suggestions are hits and misses. The one suggested might be right for you, then again, might be not. The only proper answer to your question comes from yourself, by trying and comparing them for yourself......

When you look at a 'discount', you need to compare it to the price of other vendors before you can even recognize it as anything special. Amazon almost always puts some super high price and then marks it down as a discount.
