PC Plan

Go to solution Solved by antoainb,

It will work but if you plan on OC'ing then you need a Z87/97 mobo.

Sorry I didn't realize there were guidelines.

well I'll have my unorganized version below

1. Budget & Location

My budget is 1,300 USD (Google 1300 USD to *Your Currency*)

And the parts I have selected are listed below:

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Zarlo/saved/mtPKHx

2. Aim

My aim for the Computer is 3D rendering Video Production and Gaming. A mix of both worlds is my goal.

3. Monitors

I will have 2 Monitors. One for gaming, one for just, skype, when I'm in a game or browsing the web while working on a project in the middle

4. Peripherals

The PC will include a copy of Windows 8.1

and Peripherals

CM Storm QuickFire Ultimate (Cherry MX Red if you actually care) and wow that is in a big font.

Cooler Master Storm Reaper Mouse

and suddenly i'm typing in Orange from copy and pasting. Oh well!

and last but not least

Razer Tartarus Gaming Keypad

and some two random crappy tv's.

5. Why are you upgrading?

Because Video Rendering takes bloody forever and I get about 20 FPS in Battlefield 3 on Ultra.

Updated drivers cleaned harddrives scanned for viruses blahblahblahblahblah helped a bit. But the hardware is not enough

And the unorganized version.

I also forgot to mention I will be doing intense acts like Video Editing Picture Production all of that. And while I will be gaming as well.

All I really want to know if this nifty machine is compatible, I've searched and searched to make sure, but I feel I should get some responses from minds with more experience than I.

Also some recommendations are very appreciated.

Budget about 1300$ Could try expanding but not too too likely because, already its 1300 USD, so.

I do plan on overclocking actually. So I will see about that.

I find myself rendering hour long videos, probably more then I should, 720p at the least. And yeah that gets time consuming on my computer.

I have a (FX-8300 something another)

It ranges from a good minute to an hour and a half.

Audio production I don't do much because I have the Razer Kraken 7.1 Headset mic, which is good, but its nothing great.

I make pictures. With my professional program named Paint. its pretty hardcore and hard to run.

And the only reason I threw a 780 in the mix is because I will be playing games, such as Battlefield 3/4 Titanfall Minecraft (With a insane mod that makes Minecraft as hard to run as Battlefield 3 on ultra and is a surprisingly accurate comparison)

I actually did look at Origin PC, but I threw my specs that is $1175.65 with Taxes Shipping and everything, the Origin PC was 3000$ with no warranty taxes or shipping.

I'm no movie maker in need of a 4960x but I feel the i5 should suit me perfectly for being nearly as fast as the 4770k for 100$ cheaper which is very appealing.

I did consider the R9 290, but its hotter, Louder, and just, I've always found little to no appeal for AMD video Cards. I love their processors. But for just some reason, But I will not be like NO AMD DIE. I will see about it.

And case wise, I don't care I won't be seeing it much, I want something that works.

What kind of projects are you working on? At what scale? Programs being used?

No point getting a K series cpu if you don't intend to oc. You need a zX7 motherboard to oc.

Budget?

I've updated the forum post, if that explains anything. I probably wrote much more then actually is needed. But feel free to skimp.

And thanks for explaining the overclocking thing. I'm shooting for like 4.2-4.5 Which isn't much but why not, I may not do it though just to save maybe 100 bucks removing the k and keeping the cheap motherboard.

I read the updates--still little mention of what kind of programs are being used and projects being worked on.

You mention that peripherals are included--which do you need?
