XBOX One controller for PC (wireless connection)

Hey guys, recently Microsoft released PC driver support for their XBOX one controller (yay!). I was thrilled with this information, but also I have noticed that they haven't released an official XBOX one wireless adapter for PC... or not the one I am aware of.

 

My question is: is there a way to connect the controller wirelessly to your PC and still keeping the initial functionality as if the controller is connected with a wire? I know that MS will probably release the official adapter eventually, but I wonder if there is a way to do it in initial state.

I have multiple people telling me that 360 adapter won't do the job. Perhaps someone can confirm otherwise?

 

I think the actual driver was released, it will even roll out with one of the future updates for Windows, but for now you have to download it separately.

Both things are wrong.

 

The xbox 360 adapter wont work as it uses a different wireless standard to the xbox one.

 

the driver was released it charges and lets u use it.

 

Op Id say they will come out with an adapter eventually but have no idea how long.

Yeah, this is something that I also assumed, thank you for additional info.

No xbox 360 game controllers use a proprietary 2.4GHz RF communications protocol and im pretty sure  the xbox one uses some sort of wifi standard so it would be like plugging a hdmi cable into a usb port its just to different.

I'm just re-using this thread for my question.
As it was mentioned earlier in this thread microsoft has released the driver for the xbox one controller on pc. However, the One-Contoller is detected as a X360 Controller. So here's my question: Why would sb use the One Controller on the PC (if not already owning one), its more expensive and u're not able to connect via wifi.
