Possible options:

1) A bug/glitch (most likely).

2) A virus (any good anti virus would prevent this).

3) Your RAM is faulthy (which brand does your RAM come from? ).

It is a Corsair Dominator 2x8GB, 16GB kit RAM. If its a bug/glitch or a virus, is there a way to fix this?

Hi, I am unable to figure out the process(es) which is taking up all your RAM. Please provide another image from Task Manager's "Process" tab with "Memory" in descending format.

@xJeffzz

Sure, I've attached the image. :)

@xJeffzz

It seems McAfee is using up most of your memory to run the initial scans. It will go down to normal in a few hours. Did you install the AV recently? Is this a new PC?

The AV, has been on my computer for 1 month of so, and the computer is relatively new. But could you explain how and why McAfee is using all 12gb of RAM? It sounds a bit excessive, as the task manger (image above) is only using 339.6MB?

12GB? Oh, I got it wrong.

Please log in to safe mode with only critical components enabled and take another screenshot.

You might be infected with Malware/Adware/Virus.

Do you know how to access Safe Mode?

I accessed safe mode. And wow... First time I ever seen my RAM that low! At 1.5GB, it looks quite fine :D But not as much out of safe mode. Any ideas? A memory leak?

That's great result, it means whatever is affecting your PC has not invaded its core.

Please download the Sysinternals suite from the above link.

You will be be able to get a better idea of what is really using up all the RAM using Process Monitor.

Please post a picture or process details when you are done.
