VESA mod question

i have an acer h236hl and want to make it vesa compatible. i would buy a different monitor but i cant seem to find a monitor with the same specs and the tiny bezel that the h236hl has. i found this thread where this guy shows how he modded his. i tried to get ahold of him to ask him a few questions but he never responded. Do you guys think that it would be safe to do? im just worried about after a while that it would fall off.

As long as you are careful enough and don't damage any internal component, it will work. However it will void your warranty.

will the back be able to stay on after it is mounted? i dont want to put it on a mount then come home one day and the monitor be laying flat on its face on my desk/

There are 2 screws and several latches that hold the monitor together, they should hold enough.
