So I'm going to build my first gaming computer soon and I was thinking if I could get a little more suggestion from everyone!

Here's the pcpartpicker link:  http://pcpartpicker.com/user/alex93310/saved/cBhKHx

I'm struggling between getting an i5-4690k or just spend a little more to get an i7-4770k?  Is it worth it?  If I end up going with the 4770k, should I just use a Z87 board?

I chose Kingston Beast because it's not much more expensive than Corsair Vengeance.  Same reason with that 2400 frequency.

I'm also having trouble with the second drive.  Should I go with an WD Black?  Or should I go with the Seagate Hybrid drive?  Or should I just get two SSDs for RAID 0 (I don't quite need 1 whole TB of storage)?  People complain about how unstable RAID 0 is, but is it actually that bad?

Finally that monitor.  I'm most likely not going to change that since Windows 8 is quite crap without a touchscreen.

Please give me some advises!  :D

You should just get a 1440p or 144hz monitor instead of touchscreen IMO.

My personal opinion

Welcome to the forum :) and Don't get an I7 unless you're editing a i5 will be more than enough for gaming and for storage get a 240GB SSD and add another one later

Welcome :)

As the previous guys have said, stick with the i5 if you're only gaming, and save the bucks for a larger SSD. Also if you're really picky, you can choose a 650W PSU instead of the 750W, and last but not least, you better take pictures and show it off! ;)

Also I would recommand either the BenQ XL series or the Asus VG248

It's perfect, the black is too noisy, for me... It's one of the most noisy parts on my build, and i'm gonna replace it with an ssd...

rig: i7 4770k @4.1Ghz (delidded), Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600Mhz, ROG Maximus VI Hero, Noctua NH-D14, EVGA GTX980SC, Samsung 850 EVO 500GB, Corsair SF600, self-built wooden Case, CoolerMaster QuickFire TK, Logitech G502, Blue Yeti, BenQ GW2760HS

Welcome to the forum! :)

I'd go with the i7 if you're editing video or rendering using the CPU in any way. Get ADATA RAM(it's cheaper and can overclock amazingly). Get a cheaper keyboard. And get a 780Ti. Z97 is the way to go. The boards are around the same price and you get more features. A cheaper monitor too.

SSD RAID 0 is only beneficial in very specific circumstances. For use as a system drive SSD RAID 0 can actually negatively impact performance. Just buy a bigger ssd. In fact go with a single 1 TB ssd.

An i7 does not make a noticeable difference in most game play.

Nothing wrong with the choice of memory but if budget needs to be found going with DDR3-1600 CL 9 will not noticeably impact game play.

A smaller psu would be a better fit.

Personally I dislike touchscreens because they get way too dirty. But interface devices are very much personal preference. Which is why I didn't replace the monitor in my suggested changes.

Well I only have a 780, is it really capable of pushing those pixels/framerates anyways?

Ok thanks I will go with the 240GB-SSD-and-upgrade-later route now :D

Thank you.  I didn't know much about RAID 0.  About the power supply, I wanted to leave some space for a second 780 and I'm afraid 550W wouldn't be enough?

a 780 can drive ultra bf4 with about 60fps on 1440p usually.

Have you considered an ssd only build with a 480GB or even 1TB unit?

If you really want to be able to add a second 780 then you will need about 750W. But unless you have definite plans to buy one in the next 12 months I wouldn't bother. If your timeline is further out then by the time you are ready at least one, if not two generations of gpu will have appeared and you most likely will find it more appealing to buy new more powerful tech and sell the 780.

Yeah that makes sense.  I'll switch to the SeaSonic G 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply.

I'm afraid a good 480GB SSD would be out of my budget range.  I'll probably have to upgrade later.  It's probably not going to be a big issue because I don't really use a lot of storage space.  I store my pictures and videos and other big files in my super old home server.
