it doesn't stay at 100% it bounces around a lot just like the video card. When I look at GPU-Z it's saying it's only running on a PCI-E 1.1 lane motherboard says that with a FM2 CPU it should run it as a 2.0 lane

If you were to get Kaveri, your board supports PCI-E 3.0. That would also get rid of the bottleneck, and it would hybrid crossfire.

Great I don't have $180 to drop on a CPU though

If you want to get rid of the bottleneck, I would suggest returning that GPU and get Kaveri, then later down the road; get that GPU again.

The hole point of getting the Video card was so I could get rid of the APU I'm gonna get a Athlon X4 760K as soon as I can

i will say if he were to upgrade the GPU when he has the A10-7850K system

the GPU he should get is at least the R9 270/X and above

260X is more towards budget system without GPU

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

that will be a good direction but try to get at least the R7 265 or the R9 270 to pair with the Athlon 760k

all with due time. Like I said I couldn't upgrade to a Athlon until I had a dedicated card now I got one I can upgrade to the Athlon then bump my RAM up to 8gb then I can worry about a new video card

The R7 260 is practically the iGPU on Kaveri 7850K. The 760K, I believe, is around 10% slower than the 7850K in terms of CPU. Return GPU, get 7850K and don't feel bad about disabling the iGPU in the future when you upgrade. Plus in the near future, GPU computation will be a much larger part of compute. FM2+ chips is the best AMD can offer right now as far as PCI-e 3.0, M.2, faster ram speeds, etc. I've been in this position. It sucks to return parts when we noob out, but I face it. I wish you luck. Please consider my recommendation.

even if I were to return it I wouldn't be able to afford a New APU they cost around $150 for lower end ones I only paid $110 for this video card

maybe just hold out this system and save a bit more

Like I said I want to get away from integrated graphics my friend is buying the processor for me so that's cool I'm hoping they will come out with a new FM2+ CPU soon instead of only having APU's

will have to see but the Kaveri APU yields is much better as compare to the Trinity and Richland

the reason why the 750k and 760k exist was because during manufacturing of the APU, not all came out perfect.

some APU have the iGPU part seriously broken but the CPU was fine

so instead of throwing them away, they packaged it as a CPU with the iGPU locked and the Athlon X4 was born

the 750K is from the Trinity and the 760K from the Richland series

I can't justify spending $100 extra dollars for very minimum performance difference

http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/183/AMD_A10-Series_A10-7850K_vs_AMD_Athlon_X4_760K.html

http://www.game-debate.com/cpu/index.php?pid=1959&pid2=1883&compare=apu-a10-7850k-vs-athlon-ii-x4-760k-black-edition

http://cpuboss.com/cpus/AMD-Athlon-X4-760K-vs-AMD-A10-7850K

only benefit would be PCI-E 3.0 which I doubt would do much in terms of performance

we try not to use CPUBoss or GPU boss coz they are biased to Intel and Nvidia

not only Kaveri has support for PCI-E 3.0 which may benefit high end GPUs since they can use all the extra bandwidth

HSA can make the A10 a 12 core compute monster when running OpenCL programs

Trueaudio meaning no more onboard sound hopefully

and many more

The difference between PCI-E 2.0 and PCI-E 3.0 in performance is... well.. nothing.

Bandwidth wise, yeah sure. But it won't affect fps at all.
