So someone is telling me I need a 750w psu to use a gtx 770....

They are wrong.

 

Even a 450w would do.

Im fairly sure that your current psu could handle it.

I run a voltage hacked 780ti at 1.3v with a RM750... Pretty sure a 770 is good with even a 550w...

GPU boxes always over-rate their PSU requirements because they don't want to be held responsible for people who have cheap PSUs.

I think my R9 290 box recommends a 750 watt PSU. In reality my 550 watt Seasonic Gold PSU runs it fine and even has plenty of room for overclocking both my GPU and 3770K CPU.

True. 600W for a cheap generic one that is probably 600W peak.

A 400W 80+gold would be fine, but its always nice to have some security :)
