Hi All,

So I ordered some Razer Blackshark headphones, and I've been using them for quite a while.

Although they're not the most practical headset on the market, I love - LOVE the design and the specs aren't bad to the point where I'm going to be looking to upgrade anytime soon.

The problem is that I'm not a huge fan of the product branding of Razor. I'll get to the point - I hate the green.

I'm building a 'team red' rig later this year, and would really love to keep the headset, just make it more AMD/red themed. I was looking at buying bits online and recolouring the unit myself. I figure the cabling wouldn't be too hard to recolour through either heat shrink or throwing some red braiding onto it. The bits that I'm scared to touch are the material parts - stitching up around the bridge, the inside material of the ear cups and also the plastic green on the outside of the ear cups.

I was thinking some sort of cable braiding (although have no idea how to secure it to the ends), painting *cringes* the ear cup bits and bleaching *double-cringe* and dying the stitching and inner-cup material red. Some sort of paint for the cable might also be a good idea as there are parts where it isn't able to detach from the unit.

Attached are some pictures for those unfamiliar with the model. The 'ear cup bits' I'm referring to are small green accents between the ear cup housing and the leather padding.

Has anyone else recoloured their favourite peripheral? How would you recommend I go about the changes? If you could list some products that you think would work well with what I have in mind it would be very much appreciated.

:)  Thanks,

saya_kucing

Apologies, I did not realise there was a specific modding forum. My first post.

but I'm not sure how to get either on your cable without cutting it in multiple places

Will work for electronic components and parts

The people in this subgroup can probably help you more than the modding forum anyway. You might have to make a completely new wire since I don't think you can get it cleanly near th plug since you can't takeover the plug apart. You can try to open up the headphones and u solder the wire from the drivers and put the paranoid sleeving in that way but you've won't be able to get a clean cut on the plug side.
