Can you suggest me a blu-ray player for PC, (USB would be better so I can use it on my notebook too), I can by on Amazon.it and .co.uk, and I have €90 to spend (€70-80) if I need to buy from the uk.

I would like to copy my blurays in my HTPC hard disk, so faster is better  ^_^

And another question a little bit off topic, how much space take a blu ray video file without compression?

Pending on the movie, the total use of the blu-ray disc can be between 15-30gb on average. I assume most titles would have some compression on them, so could be anywhere upto and exceeding 60gig per movie un compressed video file. - Thats about my total knowledge on this subject matter. Hopefully someone will correct me.............please, anyone!!

I bought my boss one of the ASUS ones. They have several different models in various price ranges, I'd suggest checking them out!

Alternatively, if you want SPEED, then I'd actually recommend buying an internal Blu-Ray Drive (Such as an LG model), then drop it into a 3.5" external case that has USB 3.0 (and if possible, E-SATA as well). This type drive will need to be plugged into an AC Outlet, but it'll be quite a bit faster then the slim external drives.

So in terms of the raw video files off of a blu-ray, as @Maxwit44 said, they can be on average anywhere from 15-30 GB. Though don't worry about what he said about uncompressed. You'll never (nor should you ever) uncompress the files that came from the blu-ray disc. If anything, you'll want to compress them further.

Finally, for ripping Blu-Ray's, I highly highly HIGHLY recommend MakeMKV: http://makemkv.com/

It rips the movie file straight off the disc without any encoding (which makes ripping super quick), which means no quality loss. You can also choose which Subtitle or Audio tracks you rip as well. And finally, you can choose to rip all the special features as individual video files if you want.

If you need to compress the blu-ray rip after the fact, then I'd suggest running it through Handbrake: http://handbrake.fr/

Use Constant Quality setting 18 for best visual results, or 20 for slightly worse visual quality but better file size. (Higher number equals more compression, you could go higher than 20 but you'll be losing more and more visual quality).
