Surface pro 3 thoughts? (looking for reasons to/to not buy it)

Hi LTT
So i've been thinking lately about buying a Surface Pro 3, it seems to have all the features of my mobile computing needs, but it is expensive to get a proper version, ill definitely get the i5 with 128gb or above model, but that's $999...
I do however plan on selling my "gaming" notebook which is a msi ge60, which i bought for mobile gaming 2 years ago, but since that, i'm a lot less on the road and i got myself an awesome Desktop instead, so now its just a bulky school notebook and the power brick is just as big! That will decrease off the hole in my wallet

Well I would like to hear what You think of the surface 3, pros and cons over a actual laptop? do you see a value to the price? Do you intend to buy this yourself or what would your use-case be if you had one? should i wait for a potential surface 4?

i would go for it if you have the budget, it has the power to do almost everything a laptop can, (not really game but that is becasue of its lack of a dedicated gpu) and is light weight, good battery, and overall, a good package, add the 1st party kb and stylus and you are looking at a good value

almost tempted to get the i7 model, it has the hd 5000 graphics whereas the i5 has hd 4400, but i dont intend to game on it anyway other than the usual tablet games

what do yuo plan to do on it becasue a asus t100 is good to, but has a little atom in it

Mostly school use, media consumption on the go, internet browsing, homework when i'm somewhere else than home.

the t100(0) looks interesting too and cheaper from  the looks of it

I have preordered the i5/128gb model.  On paper it is the complete package: the guts of a laptop with an active digitizer for pen input. IMO it's a great purchase for students.  In the demo and reviews it looks like it can sit on your lap easily and the hinge is sturdy.  Only real con over an actual laptop is having to buy the keyboard separately.  The trackpad is also tiny, though many use wireless mice these days.  I will be getting mine soon if you want I can review it!
