Hey!

so, recently I had to replace my motherboard and my CPU.

When I finally did it, I powered the pc, and it went all well.

I opened my Desktop and all my shortcuts we're gone.

I looked at the Local Disk and I didn't have 1TB of memory anymore, and I didn't have two different things D: and E:.

How do I get my files, games, EVERYTHING back?

Thank you!

More than 64GB RAM on a consumer level board is impossible, so how did you get 1TB of memory?

And I don't think you can get your files back.

By memory they mean "Hard Disk Space". I know, I hate it when people say that too.

He means a 1TB HDD

And i think nothing should be lost.

did you plug them in? (sata and Power?)

and have you insalled all divers for the new MOBO?

if Yes, check "Computer Management" if they are listed, right click the drive/parition, and change drive letter

and if they are not listed check in the bios.

That's a little (a lot) anal retentive, no? You understood what he meant.

It's still information that is stored for future recovery. Held in memory.

Sounds like you had some kind of a RAID setup and its all screwed up now i really don't know why your files are gone but just swapping a motherboard, CPU, GPU or RAm shoudl not cause anything to disappear.

You knew fine what he(?) meant but decided to try and make a fool of him(?) anyway.

There is NOTHING in his OP that states he is talking about RAM (or indeed ROM).

The mere fact that he does mention 1TB of the stuff is a BIG CLUE that he is not talking about RAM

Oh and the files are on his HDD so they should be accesible if he has only changed the MOBO and CPU

Perhaps changing the MOBO has in some way nullified your OS try one of the live CD distros of Linux to get your files back BEFORE you try reinstalling Windows (you will probably have to reactivate by 'phone (a non event) remember if you get an actual human rather than the recording tell them you had to change MOBOs as the old one'broke' [they seem happy with repairs not so much with upgrades])

Two motoes to live by   "Sometimes there are no shortcuts"

                                           "This too shall pass"

I'm not being able to quote I don't know why xD sry for that.

But, Everything is plugged in. In the CD that comes with the Motherboard they have a little window that says: "ASUS InstAll" It is installing things like Chrome and shit like that.

When I go to the "Computer" (not in the CD but in Windows) It shows me: "System (C:): 518GB free of 785GB" and then "Local Disc(D:): 4.20GB free of 146GB"

When I check out Users and all their files, somethings are in there and somethings aren't. Example: Steam is there but ALL my games aren't. GTA San Andreas is and CoD WaW is, but CoD bo2 and all the others, aren't...
