So first things first here are the specs (quite an old build but something weird intrigues me)

  • Motherboard - EMX-ANF81HD-PRO
  • CPU - AMD Athlon 7850 Black Edition
  • Memory - A simple DDR2 2Gb
  • GPU - Inno3D Geforce GT620

Specs may be pretty old but they should run just fine except:

First Problem

 - I have Windows 7 64-bit installed and have an aero effect theme. It works good a few minutes and after a while the screen like flashes and switches to the classic theme without notice.

Second Problem

 - This second problem is in conjuction with the first one. As I said it like changes to classic theme without notice but I noticed that when I'm playing games I get a few situations

  •  1. League of Legends - The game seems to stutter and by stuttering I mean like it shows I'm in bot lane and screen like stutters between my Champion walking and just standing - Totally Unplayable if you seem to value the fast - pace action unless you want to predict your every move
  •  2. South Park, The stick of Truth - When in an in-game dialogue not like a cutscene the video it shows just lags behind the audio and doesn't seem to respond

Those are the stuff I've been having problems with.

At first I thought I had a problem with my OS so i reformatted it many times switching between Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit and it still happens

I'm planning to like replace my mobo cpu and ram altogether but I think it's better to consult it to you guys before doing that.

What's your say guys?

Try doing something else that uses up you gpu power. Does it stutter and stop working intermittently as well?

Reinstall drivers, obv.

ALSO

make sure thermal compound on GPU isn't caked. Sometimes if it is bad it won't show as a high temperature, but upon using it at 100% it overheats so fast that it restarts the driver. This happens if the paste is really bad or there is simply none at all for some reason. Re apply if you have a  tube, can't hurt.

This happened to one of my mining cards recently. Would switch off aero randomly.

But try the drivers first.

GT620... It uses onboard power, right? Are you sure your mobo is capable of powering it/doesn't have issues with power management?

Right now there is a problem where the website of the manufacturer is completely being a butthead wherein I can't even locate this board on the net. Is there anyway to see it in the motherboard itself?

Thanks I'll try this one. I'll report my progress sire.

2GB RAM is not much these days, did you check what the memory usage is?

Try turning down all the unnecessary programs before running the game and see if that helps.

Especially if you use the 64bit windows, than you're at the bare minimum ram. ( For windows 7 , but for things like LOL as well.)

Not sure what to advise you, since investing in some more ram could be "wasted money" as your computer is already 5 years old, and you (or the computer) are not gonna work with that forever.

But it's not like the specs are that bad for what you are doing with the computer , could run fine.

For league, you don't particularly need a fast computer: I have an old Intel P8400 with a Nvidia 9500T in my laptop, and it runs LOL on minimum specs fine. It has an (kinda overkill) 8gb ddr2 ram though.

Investing in new stuff is always a good call after 5-6 years of service, but you gotta have the money for it.

Well with that in mind I was planning to upgrade it cause it's like, stone-age old

1, Mobo - ASUS B85-Vanguard

2. CPU - Intel Core i3-4150

3. RAM - Corsair Vengeance 2X4GB

4, PSU - Corsair RM650W

But for now I know that at least it can handle games cause remember when I mentioned that it like F***s up when it changes to classic. But before the great switch from aero to classic it runs really well. It can even handle Starcraft 2 at High Settings no problem

I'd say ram is the problematic part here. Aero is really heavy on ram. So windows decides to change it off to make system run smoother. I'm pretty sure same thing goes with LoL.

Your upgrade looks fine but unless you are going to upgrade it later to i5 and higher end GPU, the PSU is bit overkill.

Point. I would have thought that would cause  blue screens, at least from experience. Memtest86 is not a bad idea though, even if its not it it will eliminate possibilities.

You know the weird thing is even if classic is default the screen still like shows that it's changing even if classic theme is still the outcome.
